About Us
Youth Care Africa
Youth Care Africa is a youth-serving organization that works with young people and communities to expand access to knowledge, services, opportunities and support systems that improve their well-being and life outcomes.
Our work is centered around Education, Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Economic Empowerment & Community Development, Gender Justice & Advocacy, and Climate Action. We implement practical, community-based initiatives that respond to real needs, including increasing access to youth-friendly reproductive health services, supporting education and skills development, promoting gender equality, creating livelihood opportunities, and strengthening climate resilience.
We work with young people, schools, communities, health-care providers, local leaders, and other stakeholders to develop and implement practical solutions that respond to community needs. Our programs create opportunities for young people to access knowledge, build skills, participate in meaningful initiatives, and contribute to positive change in their communities. We are committed to building healthier, empowered, inclusive, and resilient communities where every young person has the opportunity to thrive and secure a better future.

Core Programs
Education and Skills Development
We prioritize education and skills development as a vital pathway to empower young people to achieve their full potential. We work with schools, communities, and partners to improve access to quality learning opportunities, focusing not only on formal education but also on vocational training and essential life skills. Our initiatives support youth in gaining practical skills that enhance their employability, entrepreneurship, and personal growth, ensuring they are well-equipped to face future challenges.
We are committed to inclusive education that reaches marginalized groups, including girls and young people with disabilities, providing them equal opportunities to succeed. By fostering mentorship, leadership, and safe learning environments, we help nurture the talents and ambitions of youth. Through these efforts, we aim to build confident and capable young people who actively participate in and contribute to positive change within their communities.
Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)
We promote access to quality, comprehensive, and youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health information and services for adolescents and young people. Our work focuses on family planning, teenage pregnancy prevention, HIV and STI prevention, menstrual health, maternal and reproductive health, healthy relationships, consent, and gender-based violence prevention.
We create safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces where young people can access accurate information, essential resources, referrals, and support to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. We also engage parents, teachers, health-care providers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to strengthen awareness, improve access to services, and promote the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young people.
Gender Justice & Advocacy
We promote gender equality, social justice, and the protection of rights by addressing harmful gender norms, discrimination, inequality, and practices that limit the opportunities and well-being of young people. We create awareness on gender-based violence, promote respectful and equitable relationships, and support efforts that create safe environments where girls, boys, young women, and young men can participate, express themselves, and access opportunities without discrimination.
We also strengthen youth and community participation in advocacy and decision-making on issues affecting their lives. We provide platforms for young people to raise their voices, share their experiences, challenge harmful practices, and engage with community leaders and other stakeholders. By promoting dialogue, awareness, and collective action, we contribute to more equal, inclusive, safe, and just communities where everyone is respected and able to participate meaningfully.
Economic Empowerment
We focus on economic empowerment to help young people build sustainable livelihoods and achieve financial independence. Through skills training, entrepreneurship support, and access to resources, we equip youth with the tools they need to create economic opportunities for themselves and their communities. We work closely with local partners to provide mentorship, business development services, and access to markets, enabling young people to turn their ideas and skills into viable income-generating activities.
We also prioritize financial literacy and inclusion, ensuring that young people understand how to manage their finances and access essential financial services. By empowering youth economically, we contribute to reducing poverty and fostering resilient communities where young people can thrive, support their families, and drive broader economic growth.
