Imara Minds Project is a campus-based mental health initiative currently being implemented in three universities by Koigi Mugo, a changemaker at Youth Care.
The project focuses on strengthening students’ emotional well-being, promoting early support-seeking, and building a culture where mental health conversations are open and stigma-free.
Through peer-led dialogues, wellness forums, mentorship, and awareness activities, Imara Minds equips students with practical coping skills to manage academic pressure, relationships, and life transitions. By creating trusted support networks within campuses, the project nurtures resilience and empowers young people to thrive both personally and academically.
