This is an initiative led by Alice, a changemaker at Youth Care Africa, aimed at empowering young people with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves against HIV and make informed decisions about their health. The project seeks to address the challenges of HIV transmission by promoting awareness, prevention, and responsible health practices among youth and the wider community.
Through interactive workshops, community outreach programs, peer education, and awareness campaigns, the project educates participants about HIV transmission, prevention methods, testing, treatment, and living positively with HIV. It also provides guidance on sexual and reproductive health, helping young people make informed choices and adopt safe behaviours.
The Ubuntu Project actively engages the community to reduce stigma around HIV, encourage testing and early intervention, and strengthen support systems for affected individuals. By combining education, empowerment, and community engagement, the initiative fosters a culture of health-conscious decision-making, personal responsibility, and collective action toward reducing the impact of HIV in the community.
